About the Series

Soon to be displayed in the heart of Houston’s newly renovated creative space, The Silos of Sawyer Yards is “Dance Peace”. In the professional dance world, choreography is often labeled a “piece”. This naming coincides with the idea of referencing fine art as a “piece”. The commonly used title has been transformed to parallel the “peaceful” collaboration between Iranian photographer, Ashkan Roayaee and Israeli painter, Keren Farago. “Dance Peace” will be a three month long exhibition showcasing many new works focusing on the relation between art, human connection, dance, and unity. Within this exhibition “Dance Peace” will create a safe space in which two seemingly opposed countries can stand side by side in complete harmony.
